MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/22 September 2024)–About 200 visual artists and cultural performers attended the Soil Painting Activity held on September 21 on the Centennial Stage at the provincial capitol grounds.
The event was held in part of the 2024 Bukidnon Provincial Culture and Arts Week.
Datu Salakup Rodelio “Waway” L. Saway, president of the Bukidnon Local Artist Kulektib (BULAK), said it was only part of the preparation for the province’s bid to get the Guinness Book of World Records‘ title as “World’s Soil Painting Capital.”
Saway, in an earlier interview said they intend to formally apply next year and invite a Guinness adjudicator.
On Sept. 21, he said they intend to hold art workshops among Bukidnon’s barangays in 20 towns and two cities. They also intended to produce around 10,000 to 20,000 art works to fill the Capitol Grounds for the bid. (BukidnonNews.Net)
