MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.net/ 06 June 2025)—As the classes will open on June 16, the Department of Trade and Industry has released a school supplies price guide.

The guide covers common brands of notebooks, pad papers, pencils, pens, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers.

Based on their continuous monitoring, 19 percent of the items have decreased in price compared to last year while 52 percent remained the same.

For example, the cheapest writing notebook (color coded and with cover) could be bought at 15 pesos. The most expensive notebook on their list is a bookpaper-print priced at 52 pesos.

An 80-leaf pad for Grades 1 to 4 students is priced 18 pesos, while intermediate pad paper costs 26 pesos.

For pencils and pens, a pack of three is priced at 15 pesos and 16 pesos, respectively.

DTI reminds the public to check product labels, especially hardness symbols for pencils and “non-toxic” labels on crayons.

Complaints on quality or price could be sent via reporttosec@dti.gov.ph.
