MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (BukidnonNews.Net/10 October 2024) – Gov. Rogelio Neil P. Roque will seek re-election and will face four contenders in the May 12, 2025 elections including the mayor of vote-rich Valencia City and the representative of the indigenous peoples in the provincial board.

Gov. Roque filed on Oct. 2 his certificate of candidacy along with his wife, re-electionist 4th District Representative Laarni Roque. Roque is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP). Incumbent Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño, who filed his COC on October 7 under the Bukidnon Paglaum Party (BPP), will run alongside him.

Third-termer Valencia City Mayor Azucena Huervas of the National Unity Party has filed her COC for Bukidnon Governor.

Atty. Arbie S. Llesis, the current mandatory representative of the indigenous peoples in the provincial board, will also run for governor as an Independent.

Pangantucan town third-termer municipal mayor Miguel A. Silva Jr. and another independent candidate, Mr. Andrew G. Eligan of the Workers and Peasants Party are the two other contenders.

On the last day of filing, former Valencia City councilor Rhea Rhenna H. Agripo filed for the vice gubernatorial seat, challenging Quiño. (Mel B. Madera)
