KALABUGAO, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon (BukidnonNews.Net/19 September 2026) Ritualist Datu Mampasal-ag Marcelo Salid Jr. led community leaders and elders in a Singampo ritual to open the celebration of the 66th Aldaw Ta Kalabugao on September 19, 2026 at the Barangay Hall in Kalabugao, Impasugong, Bukidnon.

Singampo is a ritual performed to seek permission and blessings from the spirits for the celebration’s activities. It also drives away harmful or unwanted spirits so they do not disturb the event. As part of the ritual, four chickens and a pig were offered as bibihagon. The sacrifice was meant to appease and seek the favor of Tagbaya, Mulin-ulin, and Magbabaya.

Datus, Baes, and other tribal elders, barangay officials, and community members attended the ritual. Members of the Philippine Army also joined. Barangay Chair Richard Salinato and Barangay IPMR Datu Makabatal Joel Turay led barangay officials in attendance.
