MALAYBALAY CITY (27 June 2024/BukidnonNews.Net) A media and communicaiton educator has launched a podcast dedicated to tackle community documentation and reporting.
Mr. Walter I. Balane, a faculty member of Bukidnon State University’s Development Communication Department, has launched a special series of his Media Villager Podcast via the MindaNews Podcast to focus on community documentation and reporting, via the Spotify app.
Balane has created the Media Villager podcast on Spotify in November 2022 as an experimental project initially to demonstrate the platform to his Multimedia Production students. The six-episode series delved on various media topics. Tune in to the Podcast’s maiden episode here.
The first episode explores community documentation and reporting. By exploring the concepts of community, documentation, and reporting, the episode tackles Balane’s experiences with grassroots documentation projects in various Mindanao communities, the role of MindaNews in this awakening, and the community’s role in addressing local issues and preserving cultural heritage.
The community documentation and reporting series, dubbed “Documenting Community Stories” is released in partnership with the MindaNews Podcast and hosted by Balane. The series is released with Yas D. Ocampo as executive producer and a team of MindaNews technical support. (BukidnonNews.Net)
