TS AURING: Bukidnon, 23 other areas placed under Signal No.1
MALAYBALAY CITY (20 February 2021/BukidnonNews.Net) The weather bureau has placed 24 provinces, including Bukidnon, under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 as Tropical Storm Auring (international name: Dujuan) has entered Philippines waters east of Mindanao.
Based on its severe weather bulletin as of 11p.m. Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that 'Auring' has maintained maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. 'Auring' has weakened based on the Pagasa bulletin on Friday, which reported that it will have sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
Aside from Bukidnon, placed under TCWS no. 1 are the following provinces: Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Occidental, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental.
TCWS No. 1 means expected to experience 30 to 60 kilometers per hour in 36 hours.
Based on the same bulletin, there will be moderate to heavy rains over Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte. Bukidnon was identified among areas where there will be light to moderate with at times heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
'Auring' will likely make landfall over the Dinagat Islands-Eastern Samar-Leyte area between Sunday evening and Monday early morning.
