San Fernando reports 1 dead, 2 injured due to Typhoon Odette
MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/16 December 2021) A 14-year old was reported dead in Brgy. Dao, San Fernando, Bukidnon after an uprooted tree fell on residents.
An incident report identified the victim as Jason Sagubay. Two other persons were also reported injured due to the incident, which was cited in the report from the San Fernando Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the provincial government. The victims, who were brought to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital – San Fernando, were Resaldi Ticuso, 20, and Chris John Castor, 22.
Rou Francis Piscos, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)-San Fernando confirmed the report via RMN DXMB Malaybalay. RMN Malaybalay reported that the incident occurred around 6a.m. Thursday.
The town was placed under Storm Signal No. 1. Mayor Levi C. Edma ordered a suspension of work and classes in all levels in both public and private schools on December 16, 2021.
Based on the report from the MDRRMO, barangays Dao, Sto. Domingo, Nacabuklad, and Tugop observed rise of water level in rivers and creeks. An electric transmission live was reported to have collapsed in Brgy. Nacabuklad causing a power interruption.
Ten areas in Bukidnon were placed under Storm Signal No. 2: Cabanglasan, Lantapan, Talakag, Baungon, Libona, Manolo Fortich, Sumilao, Impasug-ong, Malitbog, and Malaybalay City. (BukidnonNews.Net)
