Pulangi River rises to Level 15 in Valencia City, New Batangan bridge closed to traffic

The Valencia City Public Affairs, Information and Assistance Section posted in its Facebook account around 9p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 that the New Batangan Bridge was temporarily closed to traffic due to the rise of the water level of the Pulangi River at Level 15. Authorities noted this is the maximum level. Only those with essential purposes like response and emergency vehicles were allowed to pass. This is one of the effects of Typhoon Odette in the city, which was placed under Storm Signal No. 1. The local government appealed to the public for cooperation.
