Northern Mindanao’s 6th coronavirus case is from Camiguin

MALAYBALAY CITY ( 05 April 2020)—The Department of Health in Region 10 confirmed that a 33-year-old female from Camiguin tested positive for coronavirus today, bringing the region’s total to six (6).

In a media advisory, DOH said the patient traveled to Manila on March 8 and returned to Camiguin on March 14 where she was immediately placed on home quarantine. She was tested on March 17 after experiencing mild symptoms of colds and sore throat.

DOH said the patient is currently under strict home quarantine, monitored by the Provincial Health Office and Rural Health Unit.

Other COVID-19 cases in the region are from Misamis Occidental (1), Lanao del Norte (1), Cagayan de Oro City (1) and Iligan City (2).  Bukidnon remains the only province free from coronavirus.

As of April 5, Mindanao has 105 cases, which is 3.23 percent of the country’s total of 3, 246 cases.
