CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (BukidnonNews.net/ 03 March 2020)—The PNP Regional Civil Security Unit 10 (RCSU) is urging gun holders in the region to renew the license of about 23,000 firearms.

P/Maj. Roque Neri, assistant chief for RCSU-10, said that 2,000 of these firearms are owned by schools offering criminology courses. The rest are owned by uniformed personnel and civilians.

Because of the volume of “loose” firearms, Neri said they have set-up the License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) Caravan across the region. He urged gun holders not to wait to be apprehended and be charged with penalty.

The caravan is a one-stop shop bringing in representatives of agencies to provide the required drug test, neuro-psychiatric test, NBI clearance, notarization of the documents, and gun safety seminar. The latter is needed by new gun owners applying for registration.

Other requirements for new applicants are the following: a notarized application form, NBI and police clearance, two valid government IDs, proof of billing, barangay clearance, birth certificate or passport, proof of income, drug test result and neuro-psychiatric test result.

Those renewing their guns will only need to submit a notarized application, NBI and police clearance, drug test result, and neuro-psychiatric clearance. (Sean Sulugan for BukidnonNews.net)
