- IN PHOTOS. The gloomy weather did not stop these youngsters to fly kites in Batangan, Valencia City. During summertime, only few would flock to the dry rice fields to master the art of kite-flying, a favorite pastime once enjoyed by the many rural kids in the late 80s and 90s.
Nowadays, this traditional pastime has been among those replaced by online games as most younger generations get hooked to their mobile phones and gadgets.
The PAGASA forecast mostly cloudy skies, heavy rain showers and thunderstorms as the Typhoon Surigae is expected to enter the eastern seaboards of the Philippine area of responsibility this week.
