Nanay Esil Maniano of Patpat, Malaybalay City sells this family-size mat for less than 600 pesos. Made out of sedsed (water grass growing in swamps), this mat or ikam is ideal to sleep on during summer. A single size of this could take more than a week to finish depending on the weaver's expertise.

Nanay Esil learned this craft from her aunt who also taught her in calculating the price for each mat. The price is generous as Nanay Esil has been weaving ikam for a long time.

This ikam is temporarily displayed at the Bukidnon Studies Center in BukSU main campus, Malaybalay City. BukidnonNews.Net
