MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net) Bukidnon mayors attending a consultation called by Gov. Jose Ma. R. Zubiri Jr today are now deliberating whether to raise the level of community quarantine in the province from general to enhanced.

Valencia City Mayor Azucena Huervas moved for the declaration of enhanced community quarantine in order to have uniform protocol in the province to keep it free from COVID-19.

"In Valencia City, we are very strict, but in other towns, their residents are allowed to come and go," she said.

Another mayor suggested stricter rules in the boundaries of Bukidnon.

But another mayor said it is not easy to immediately declare enhanced community quarantine as there are guidelines set for it. Another mayor also cited the difference in situation from one town to another. Sumilao mayor Jose Antonio A. Villo said some towns require residents to carry quarantine pass while others don't. He said the DILG guidelines does not provide for it.

This meeting of the League of Mayors of the Philippines Bukidnon chapter is on-going in Malaybalay City. The governor, in his opening remarks earlier said he needs the mayors to help as he could not do it alone.(BukidnonNews.Net)
