CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/23 February 2020) A patient is considered as the latest person under investigation (PUI) for coronavirus disease (COVID) 19 in Northern Mindanao as of February 23, the Department of Health -10 announced.

The DOH revealed the information through the social media group of reporters covering City Hall.

The PUI was subjected for laboratory tests as of February 20, a day after the 16 patients previously considered as PUIs were discharged.

The DOH did not reveal additional details. They used to reveal province of location of the PUIs.

Dr. Adrian Suba-an, DOH 10 regional director, earlier explained that they needed to send samples to Hongkong and Australia, that is why it took so long to obtain results for previous suspected cases.

He noted, however, that subsequently, obtaining results is now faster with their own test kits.

Dr. Suba-an said NorthMin hospitals have reserved rooms in case there are PUIs to be admitted. Among the hospitals, which reserved rooms for PUIs include the Northern Mindanao Medical Center with 12 rooms, including five for ICU cases and Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center with one wing and an ICU room.

He also ordered hospitals in other provinces to prepare and cautioned them to inform the DOH in case they are not ready. (Sean Sulugan for BukidnonNews.Net)
