Bukidnon logs 24 COVID-19 related deaths
MALAYBALAY CITY (13 January 2021/BukidnonNews.Net) Bukidnon has logged its 24th confirmed death due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on January 12.
The patient was identified as Confirmed Case No. 234, a 51-year-old female from Purok 16, Brgy. Casisang, Malaybalay City.
A public advisory from Malaybalay City said she died after battling the severe disease along with complications with her other illness. She was described as a government employee serving the health sector.
She was the fifth COVID-19 death in Malaybalay.
CCN 234 was admitted at Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center (BPMC) in the city and underwent swab test before her death. On the day she died, her result came out indicating she was positive of COVID-19.
The advisory said following her death, she was laid to rest based on Department of Health protocol through the coordination of Malaybalay IMT-Management of the dead for COVID-19.
In a COVID-19 Case Bulletin released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on January 13 afternoon, other localities with COVID-19 fatalities were Manolo Fortich and Valencia City with four each and Don Carlos town has two. The towns of Damulog, Dangcagan, Impasug-ong, Lantapan, Libona, Pangantucan, Quezon, San Fernando and Talakag have one each.
Meanwhile, as of 4p.m. on January 13, the case bulletin said Bukidnon has a total of 1,139 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 98 active cases and 1,107 recoveries.
The towns with zero active cases are Baungon, Cabanglasan, Damulog, Dangcagan, Kadingilan, Malitbog, San Fernando and Talakag. (Mel B. Madera/BukidnonNews.Net correspondent)
