MALAYBALAY CITY (03 July 2020) I was one of the fellows of the Bukidnon Community Youth Journalism Fellowship 2019 organized by the BukidnonNews.Net where I first met the late Dr. Lourdes G. dela Torre.

I haven't known her that much but I certainly believed in her cause and her unprecedented passion to help.

In the fellowship, she was introduced to us as one of the pillars of the BukidnonNews.Net organization. In her message during the opening off the fellowship, I can sense her sincerity and her great love for her craft. She inculcated in us the important role of journalism as the platform to check and balance in society.

She was indeed an "agent of change". Selflessly, she was willing to give her best to contribute to the common good of the people.

She was one of those individuals who influenced me to become mindful about the current issues happening in my surrounding. She showed me the way where truth and freedom are of utmost priority.  No doubt because of her great works in community media and other areas where she hurdled best, I was encouraged to be like her in the future, to be an "agent of change" in my own little ways.

Rest in Peace Dr. Lourdes G. dela Torre. May your time on earth serve as a reminder that everyone has responsibility to help others and may your memories be cherished and be engrained in everyone's heart forever.
