MALAYBALAY CITY ( 07 April 2020)—The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 10 partnered with the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division in delivering 3,000 food packs to Bukidnon families last week.

Each family food pack contains six kilos of rice, four cans of corned beef, four cans of sardines, and six sachets of instant coffee.

The packs, which were stored in the province’s army facilities, were part of the various government assistance packages prepared by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging and Infectious Disease (RIATF-MEID). They were intended for Northern Mindanao families affected by the threat of the coronavirus.

Mari-Flor Dollaga-Libang, DSWD-10 regional director, said the latest batch of deliveries brings the total of food packs stored in Bukidnon’s military camps to 6,000.

Maj. Gen. Franco Nemesio M. Gacal, commander of the 4th ID said the army is prepared to give any form of assistance to all government agencies and local government units in the fight against COVID-19.

As of April 6, Bukidnon remains free from the disease but it has 43 persons under investigation and 1,235 under monitoring, according to the Provincial Health Office.
