1,705 Bukidnon agrarian reform beneficiaries receive land titles

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/15 March 2021) The Department of Agrarian Reform (DRA) has distributed land to 1,705 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Bukidnon on March 6, 2021.  

Agrarian Reform Sec. John R. Castriciones led the distribution of a total of 1,847 Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to the beneficiaries in the Kaamulan Folk Arts Theatre, Kaamulan Park, this city. The CLOAs covered a total of 1,331.7782 hectares.

DAR also turned over ₱30.5 million worth of Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for ARBs Project (CLAAP) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Castriciones said the department has targeted to distribute 2,168 hectares in Region 10, 1,393 hectares or 68 percent of which form part of the Convergence Areas for Peace and Development (CAPDev).

He said CLOA cannot be sold or mortgage within 10 years of the release.

The agency emphasized that the distribution of CLOAs to the landless farmers provides security of tenure resulting to the increase of income and improved quality of life of ARBs. This they said significantly contribute to the reduction of poverty in Bukidnon.

About 339 of the beneficiaries were from Pangantucan with CLOAs covering 60.4954 hectares. Talakag is the town with the biggest share of the land distributed with 202.0865 hectares for 245 beneficiaries
