Bukidnon Press Club Elects New Set of Officers

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.net/ 06 December 2025)—Broadcaster Randie Makaputin of the Valencia-based DXRC Radyo Commando has been elected as the new president of the Bukidnon Press Club at the reorganization yesterday, Dec. 5.

The 54-year-old journalist has worked with his station for more than 11 years. Three days ago, he was also sworn in as the Valencia City Press Corps’ VP for Radio. He will serve the Bukidnon Press in 2026, succeeding former president Juanito Aroa of DXDB.

Makiputin said in a speech that he still needs to meet with other officers so they could present next year’s programs and activities.

Other officials include Jun Sanchez Maban, DXMB station manager as vice president; Bing Tenorio of Mindanao Gold Star Daily, secretary; Marie Codino of XFM, assistant secretary; Roderick Tubio, Brigada News FM, treasurer; Herbie Lumanog, Super Bagting, assistant treasurer; and Janifai Failago, DXDB, auditor. Ching Castuera of Radyo Commando and Neline Lambayan of Win Radio were also elected public information officers.

The club also elected five advisers, some of whom had been BPC presidents.

Ninety-year-old Rudy Tagimacruz, former Philippine Information Agency-Bukidnon manager and now Central Mindanao Newswatch correspondent was BPC member since the 1960s. Walter Balane, BukSU DevCom professor and BukidnonNews.net editor-in-chief also led BPC in 2011. Meanwhile, DXDB’s Jun Aroa who was appointed last January in the Malaybalay City Water District board of directors led the club until recently.

Other advisers were Nonet Rosales, consultant to DXMB Radyo Ukay and Ruby Leonora Balistoy, provincial manager of PIA-Bukidnon.

Founded in 1965, the Bukidnon Press Club is guided by its motto “Veritas vos liberabit” (“The truth will set you free”).
