Camella Homes eyes subdivision in Bukidnon, but …

VALENCIA CITY  (Bukidnon News/19 August) Camella Homes, the low-cost unit of Vista Land and Lifescapes, Inc., has planned to build a subdivision in Bukidnon, former Las Piñas representative Cynthia Villar said Saturday.

But Villar, who was in town to meet local supporters, cited the high price of land for residential projects in the province.

“We can’t afford to buy at a higher cost (as we are selling low-cost units),” she added.

She said they continue scouting for areas, even far from the city center, which falls within their budget.

The company had earlier announced as cited in a Business World report, that they are initially targeting sites in Cagayan de Oro City and Ozamiz City in Misamis Occidental, Koronadal in South Cotabato, Valencia in Bukidnon and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte.

The family-owned business is bullish on Mindanao, citing existing communities Camella Homes has developed in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Tagum, Butuan and General Santos, according to the report.

Villar, head of the Villar Foundation, has espoused the power of women to pursue livelihood. The foundation, she said, has helped women in their city. She invited local politicians and civil society organizations present to visit Las Piñas so they can showcase the work they have done there.

About 250 supporters including local politicians attended the gathering for Mrs. Villar who has been reported to have eyed a seat in the Senate. (Bukidnon News)
