ARTIST SKETCH of two out of six suspects in the murder of radio commentator Joash Dignos, released by the police Monday.

VALENCIA CITY (Bukidnon News/02 December) — City Police chief Roy Magsalay presented to the media today two artist sketches of suspects in the murder of  radio commentator Joash Dignos.

Magsalay, who also gave updates of the investigation at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Conference Room, said: “We are still only up to the point of drawing the artist sketches of the 2 of the 6 suspects who gunned down the broadcaster…”

The artist-drawn sketches were made based on the testimonies of witnesses, according to Magsalay.

As previously reported by Jun Estore Jr of NUJP-Bukidnon, the murder happened when Dignos was hanging out with his friends in front of the CAP Building along the Sayre Highway in this city the night of November 29. When the commentator went to the rest room, one of the assailants followed him and started shooting.

Dignos was reported to have run towards his car but was met with more bullets from other assailants on his way out.

Insp. Magsalay, citing the SOCO report, said they were able to find 22 gunshot wounds (not 28 as previously reported). However, they were not yet certain how many bullets exactly hit Dignos because some of those holes are both entry and exit wounds.

A task group, which involved the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), was also formed for the speedy resolution of the case.

“We are looking at every possible angle and motive,” Magsalay added.

Dignos was a known hard-hitting commentator in his block-time program “Bombardeyo” at DXGT Radyo Abante in Maramag. The program airs every 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning from Monday to Friday.

Dignos had previously reported on receiving death threats, which made him tape his programs instead of going live. Last June, the DXGT radio station was rocked by an explosion when his program was airing. The blast had wounded a student working part-time in the station and spared Dignos that time because the show was only taped. (Dan V. Mental/Bukidnon News)
