3 Bukidnon runners qualify to Milo National Finals

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Bukidnon News.Net/27 November) Three Bukidnon runners, Juniel Languido, Richeel Languido and Jemarvin Cabillan, have qualified to the national finals of the 36th Milo Marathon in SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City on December 9.

The Languidos won the Cebu and Butuan legs respectively while Cabillan, won 5th over-all in the Cagayan de Oro leg on November 25 with qualifying time of 1:15:39 in the 21-K event.

Cabillan qualified behind champion Jeffery Sotto, Arnold Unabia, Cresenciano Sabal and Brian Quiamco. Cabilan’s Unifrutti teammate Leo Colonia placed 7th while Ronilo Sandinao of Sumilao finished number 9 overall.

The Cagayan de Oro foot race was the last provincial eliminations of the 36th Milo Marathon season.

A number of runners from Bukidnon showcased their speed and endurance to emerge among the top finishers of the 36th Milo Marathon Cagayan de Oro held last Sunday, November 25, 2012.

Leonard Colonia, a student of Bukidnon State University, outsprinted Kevin Capangpangan by a fraction of a second to win the Men’s 10K top prize of P5,000.00 plus trophy. In the same distance, Malaybalay runners Wilmer Hallasgo finished 6th overall and Christine Organisa placed 4th in women’s division.

Bobby Tadlas, also of Malaybalay City, outran Renowi Ketz Manlapao of Pagadian and Christian Jude Sandinao of Sumilao, Bukidnon to rule the men’s 5K event. Richard Moneva from Manolo Fortich finished 5th overall while Princess Noven Acil, also from Manolo Fortich, finished second in the female category. In 3K Kiddie Run, Rhea May Salinay of Malaybalay City finished 7th in the girl’s division.
