‘Inay’ Lolita Dinlayan, 86

MALAYBALAY CITY (Bukidnon News/08 October) Mrs. Lolita Litanon Dinlayan, widow of esteemed Bukidnon leader the late Vice Gov. Lorenzo “Aki” Dinlayan, has died early morning on October 5. She was 86.

Loreta Sol Dinlayan, her daughter, said she fell ill for a month with a gall bladder infection.

Mrs. Dinlayan was a public servant, whose last post was as a clerk of court. When her husband became the mayor of the then Municipality of Malaybalay, she resigned and served as a full time housewife. She was ‘inay’ (Binukid for “mother”) to 11 children.

Ms. Dinlayan described her mother through a Facebook comment in June this year, on the occasion of her 86th birthday, as the woman behind the success of Datu Bagangbangan or Aki, who died in November 2010.

Her remains were buried at the Shepherd’s Meadow Memorial Garden in Malaybalay City, this morning, after a three-day wake. (Bukidnon News)
