Flooding in Aglayan, Malaybalay City

AGLAYAN, Malaybalay City (Bukidnon News/08 October) Close to 30 families were affected by flood waters in Aglayan, Malaybalay City Monday afternoon.

The water reached the safety switch level of the houses reached by flood water, Allan Comiso, chief of the Malaybalay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Center.

Flood waters overflowed to the portion of the Sayre Highway putting about 30 meters length of the highway under water.

Traffic was slightly hampered. Bigger vehicles managed to cross but lighter vehicles had to wait for water level to go down an hour later.

Comiso said he sent two teams of rescuers but reported no casualties. He noted there were no displacements and no one sought to be rescued.

Residents said the incident happens every time heavy rains fall in the upland portion of the city and the Municipality of Lantapan.

Strong water current was also reported in the creek in nearby Brgy. Cabangahan. (Bukidnon News)
