Violeta 5 robbery suspects face charges

MALAYBALAY CITY (Bukidnon News/26 August) The Malaybalay City Police Station has already filed charges against five suspects in the robbery incident in Brgy. Violeta on Aug. 20.

The suspects, two of them from Tudela, Misamis Occidental and three from this city, were arrested in Purok 5, Barangay 9 after a pursuit operation on Aug. 21.

The suspects robbed a couple, the Dinagsaos from Mauswagon, Cabanglasan town in the highway in Brgy Violeta on Aug. 20 snatching a total of P729,082.14. The Dinagsaos were carrying the payment for the delivery of dried shelled corn to Mindanao Grains Corporation in Aglayan, this city.

The MCPS identified the suspects as Marchon Jangulan, 35, and Rey Jangulan, 35, both construction workers from Tudela, Misamis Occidental; Teofilo Asero, 40, multicab driver from Barangay 9; Roldan Lague, 27, a delivery boy from Barangay 1; and Mary Pahunang, a housemaid from Barangay 7 – all from this city.

SPO2 Manuel Labadan said the charges were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office last week.

P/Supt. Oscar Jacildo told Bukidnon News via SMS Tuesday they filed robbery cases against the five suspects. The court, he added, imposed a P180, 000  bond each to bail. 

As of Sunday, the suspects were detained at the MCPS pending the issuance of commitment order for their transfer to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). Jacildo said they scheduled the transfer on August 27.

Police report cited the recovery of a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine assembly loaded with seven live bullets; a caliber .9mm pistol with a magazine assembly loaded with nine live bullets, a hand grenade, eight assorted cellular phones, 40 pieces of P500 bills (P20,000.00), assorted wallets, drivers license, identifications cards, ATMs and other documents from their alleged victims.
