Bukidnon biz chamber sets eyes on ‘private-public partnerships’

MALAYBALAY CITY  (Bukidnon News/18 July)  The Bukidnon Kaamulan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (BKCCII) 4th General Membership Meeting Friday will focus on public-private partnerships.

According to a statement from organizers the meeting, to be held from 9am to 3p.m. Friday at Valencia Hotel in Valencia City, stresses public-private partnership’s crucial role to sustainable development.

Speakers to the meeting include a mix of government and business officials with Valencia City mayor Jose Galario and 4th District Rep. Oniel P. Roque taking turns in the podium with business chamber and trade and industry officials.

The chamber’s general membership meeting offers opportunity for entrepreneurs to enhance their knowledge on various Micro Small Medium enterprise development programs and possibly expand their business network.

Junar Merla, a senior trade specialist at Department of Trade and Industry –Bukidnon, said presenters include DTI, the Department of Science and Technology, Sun Cellular, PS Bank, and Baroksystems Developers.

Linda Boniao, DTI-10 asst. Regional drector; Rudy Meñes of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Mindanao will also speak in the event.

Menes, PCCI’s regional governor for Mindanao, will give the keynote speech. BKCCII was formally sworn in as an official member of PCCI in May 2013.

According to the tentative program, among the presentations include that of Roderico Bioco, chamber president, on the chambers programs, projects, and activities.

Venus S. Villanueva, DTI-Bukidnon’s business development chief will present the DTI’s Shared Service Facility (SSF).

Virgilio M. Fuertes, DOST-Bukidnon provincial director, will also present DOST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SET-UP).

Ermedio J. Abang, DTI-Bukidnon provincial director, is scheduled to share inputs on the roving SME Academy. (Walter I. Balane/Bukidnon News.Net)
