BukidnonNews.Net opens relief drive for ‘Vinta’ affected Matigsalug villages

MALAYBALAY CITY (27 December) BukidnonNews.Net has opened a relief support drive for two Matigsalug villages affected by tropical storm “Vinta”.

The campaign is dubbed “Target: Buliga” a relief drive for residents of Simsimon, Brgy. Kalagangan in San Fernando town and Panganan, Kitaotao, both in Bukidnon province.

The news organization chose the two villages because of current and previous contacts with sources in the area.

The organization will receive goods or cash donations to be channeled to local leaders via Ms. Loreta Sol L. Dinlayan, a BukidnonNews.Net columnist and a faculty member of Bukidnon State University.

In an SMS on December 25, Dinlayan said the residents in Panganan appealed for help for their basic needs like food, clothing, cooking pots, blankets and sleeping mats and medicines. In Simsimon, she added, the immediate needs include food, clothing, galvanized iron for roofing and nails. She said they also needed soaps and medicines for wounds and headache. (BukidnonNews.Net)
