Malaybalay group wins ‘2017 Most Promising Youth Organization’

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/18 August 2017) The Villar Foundation awarded the Malaybalay Youth Transformation Movement or MYTM as the 1st Villar SIPAG Most Promising Youth Social Enterprise for 2017, as announced by the local government of Malaybalay on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

The program organized by the Villar Foundation encouraged young people nationwide to help hand in hand to fight poverty.

The group was named together with Project Lily PH of Taguig, Metro Manila for the citation under the 1st Villar SIPAG Youth Poverty Reduction Challenge. SIPAG stands for Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance.

Two youth organizations from Mindanao were named among the “Most Outstanding Youth Organizations” namely, Taluksangay 4-H Club of Taluksangay, Zamboanga City and Working Youth Club of Tubay, Inc. of Tubay, Agusan del Norte.

One winner each from the National Capital Region and the Visayas and five others from the rest of Luzon were awarded as “Most Outstanding Youth Organization,” according to a post at the Villar SIPAG Facebook account.

MYTM was created through its founder, Pastor Richard Sibayan with the support of the local government. Among its activities include the conduct of community outreaches, sports activities, outings and exposures.

The group also organizes the Street Kids Feeding Program every Saturday which is in line with their Mission and Vision: “From a community Burden Transforming into a Community Blessing”.

Aside from the award, the group was reported to have also received a cash prize worth P100, 000. (BukidnonNews.Net)
