Malaybalay City augments community emergency responders

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/26 August) – Malaybalay’s City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) augmented its community responders recently with the inclusion to its force of new graduates of the  Community-Based Emergency Disaster Assistance and Response or CEDAR Training.

A total of 172 graduates CEDAR Training has been added to the responders’ force of the city after City Councilor Rendon P. Sanggalang confirmed their completion in closing ceremonies on August 24, 2017 held at Barangay 4, Freedom Park of this city.

CEDAR, a program organized by CDRRMC headed by CDRRM Officer IV Alan J. Comiso, is a training to hone community-based responders regarding the ways to respond in times of emergencies and disasters in the city.

The graduates were mostly Barangay Peace and Order Officers or BPSOs of the different districts of Malaybalay, including Poblacion, South Highway, North Highway, Basakan and Upper Pulangui. They were trained for three days in the month of August.

Sanggalang said the city government is grateful for the new batch of graduates. He said he hoped that the graduation will serve as the starting point of their voluntary service to the public. (BukidnonNews.Net)
