Bukidnon to celebrate 103rd foundation day

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net/31 August 2017) The Provincial Government of Bukidnon and its constituents will celebrate its 103rd Foundation day as a regular province on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Kaamulan Open Theater of this city.

It can be recalled that Bukidnon became a regular province in the year 1914.

In 1850, Bukidnon became part of Misamis province as a municipality. The separation of Bukidnon has been proposed by the Philippine commission headed by Commissioner Dean C. Worcester, Secretary of Interior and a member of the Philippine Commission.

With Philippine Commission Act 1693 on August 20, 1907, the province of Agusan was created with Bukidnon as a sub-province.

By virtue of the creation of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu, Bukidnon became a regular province on September 1, 1914.

This year, in line with the theme, “Care for Bukidnon. Care for the Next Generation”, the provincial government to be headed by Governor Jose Maria R. Zubiri, Jr. will hold its program at 8am with special guest coming from the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA Region X, Regional Director Leon Dacanay, Jr.

With this, all National Agencies, Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations, Civic Clubs, Non-Governmental Organizations, People’s Organizations, Schools, Universities and Private Institutions were advised to attend the program.

Part of the program is the awarding of certificates of Handog Titulo Program of the provincial government through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office or PENRO and the Certificate of Land Ownership Award or CLOA from the office of the Department of Agrarian Reform or DAR.

Meanwhile, the commemoration also falls on the same date as our Muslim brothers and sisters celebrate their Muslim Festival 2017 Eidul Adha or “Feast of Sacrifice”. (BukidnonNews.Net)
