MALAYBALAY CITY (Bukidnon News/25 April) Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) opened today its first branch in Malaybalay City, the second in Bukidnon.

Linjey L. Salmasan, Malaybalay branch head, said they opened three branches, along with one each in Iloilo and Taguig cities. As of today, the bank now has 641 branches in the country, 72 of which are in Mindanao.

Bank management led a motorcade followed by a holy mass officiated by Fr. Virgilio Delfin. Roderico Bioco, president of the Bukidnon Kaamulan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKCCII) graced the opening rites joining Metrobank senior officers Carolyn Lao, regional sales head); Sydney Yap, area head; Ricky Perez, branch support center; and Francis Kaamino, cluster sales head.

The bank will open its third branch in Bukidnon – in Maramag town soon, said Salmasan.

So far, only one Metrobank automated teller machine (ATM) is available for service at the newly opened bank; potential locations for future ATMs are eyed at Gaisano Malaybalay and at Mindanao Grains in Barangay Aglayan.

“Target clienteles include businessmen, young professionals, and students, “said Salmasan. (Hazel A. Generalao/Bukidnon News)
